About Event

Still Here, Still Leading

A Hybrid Town Hall & AGM

Hosted by Ase Community Foundation for Black Canadians with Disabilities

We're not going anywhere.

They're rolling back DEI initiatives. Dismantling programs we fought for. Acting like we were never here.

But here's what they don't understand: Black disabled folks have always been leading. And we're not about to stop now.

Join us for "Still Here, Still Leading" – a Town Hall and AGM where we can actually talk to each other, share what's working, and figure out how we keep going.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, May 30th, 2026
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Format: Hybrid – show up in person or join from home
Location: TBD (we'll announce an accessible venue soon)

What's Happening

Panel Discussion
Real talk with Black disabled leaders about how they're navigating this mess

Two Rounds of Breakout Rooms
Smaller conversations where you can actually get a word in – share what you're dealing with, hear what's working for others

AGM | Annual General Meeting
The official business (yes, we still have to do this part)

Time to Connect | Networking Session
Meet other people who get it. Exchange contacts. Build your network.

What You'll Get Out of It

Community that sees you – Not the performative kind. The real kind. People who understand what it's like right now and aren't going anywhere.

Actual strategies – Not theory. Real ways people are keeping their advocacy going, protecting their energy, and navigating spaces that don't want us there.

Your people – Connections with other Black disabled leaders you can actually call on later. Build your crew.

This Is For You If

  • You're a Black Canadian with disabilities

    • You're leading or advocating in your community

    • You're tired of doing this work alone

    • You need to be around people who understand

    • You're looking for ways to keep going when everything feels like it's moving backward
