Queering Design with House of Bodega

​It is with great pleasure that we invite you to Salon Maxivive Season 2, Session 3, a special evening featuring the ballroom house, House of Bodega, taking place on August 21, 2026, at SHEBANG Amsterdam, located at Lemelerbergweg 35G. The evening will begin at 7:00 PM and conclude at 10:00 PM.

​Salon Maxivive is a reciprocal initiative by Nigerian fashion designer and activist Papa Oyeyemi, founder of Maxivive and member of the DARKMATTER Collective. What began in 2023 as a proposed collaboration has evolved into an ongoing platform for dialogue, bringing together artists, thinkers, and communities through intimate salon gatherings.

​The evening will unfold as a dinner interwoven with fashion, ballroom culture, and an open practice led by House of Bodega. Nigerian jollof rice will be served, and we anticipate welcoming approximately 100 guests. Drawing from our different networks, the gathering will bring together a diverse and inspiring mix of creatives, dancers, cultural workers, and members of the ballroom community.

​Together with House of Bodega, we invite you to join an evening that creates space for exchange on fashion, dance, identity, and the history and spirit of ballroom culture. Whether you are completely new to ballroom or already part of the scene, this is an invitation to participate. Come ready to move and experience the joy, freedom, and community that ballroom creates. We hope this encounter sparks meaningful conversations, new insights, friendships, and future collaborations.
