Data&AI in Finance
Join us in Düsseldorf for an evening focused on how Data and AI are actually being used in finance.
Hosted by AI Düsseldorf x trivago, this meetup brings together people building, testing, and rolling out AI in real financial environments, from practical product ideas to larger-scale applications. Expect sharp, focused talks, real examples, and honest lessons from the field, with plenty to spark conversation.
The speakers and topics for the evening are as follows:
Can Aykul, AI Lead at Syenah GmbH, ex-trivago
Abstract: GraphRAG shifts retrieval from "find similar text" to "find what's connected to this entity" - a fundamental upgrade for structured domains. In fintech, entities are everything: ETF names, regulatory bodies, executives, legal jurisdictions and their relationships matter as much as the facts. This talk walks through how we built a GraphRAG system that lets users have open-ended conversations anchored to real financial entities - We cover graph construction, entity resolution, retrieval strategies, and the honest trade-offs of running this in production
Nasiba Zokirova, Independent Data and AI Consultant, ex-Mercedes-Benz (Financial Services)
Abstract: Most pricing literature assumes fast feedback loops and clean conversion signals. High-consideration markets violate those assumptions entirely. Long conversion timelines, intermediary negotiations, financing structures, and operational constraints make elasticity estimation fundamentally harder. This session discusses how pricing systems should be designed in these environments.
Vivek Senthil Kumar, Senior Project Manager at trivago.
Abstract: Traditional ERP systems were built around forms, clicks, and workflows. But what happens when AI Agents and MCP allow us to interact with ERP systems through natural conversations instead? In this session, we’ll explore how MCP is reshaping Dynamics 365 into a more intelligent, collaborative platform and what this means for the future of Finance, AI Agents, and enterprise workflows.
Whether you work in data, AI, product, strategy, or financial services, this is a great chance to hear what is working, what is harder than it looks, and where things are heading next. Come by for useful insights, fresh perspectives, and a lively room full of people thinking seriously about the future of finance and AI in NRW.
