Popvox is a civic technology company founded by former legislative staffers. We know the realities of serving in a legislative body, and we build accordingly.
POPVOX Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonpartisan nonprofit organization with a mission to help democratic institutions keep pace with a rapidly changing world. Through publications, events, prototypes, and technical assistance, the organization helps public servants and elected officials better serve their constituents and make better policy.
Marci will introduce her broader work, but will take this opportunity to indulge her nerdy passion / irrational obsession with CSPAN, "a great example of an industry coming together to voluntarily commit to funding public services.”
In this blog post from 2023, she observes that in the broadcast to cable transition, companies supported a public interest version of their platform. No similar effort emerged with the rise of social media. That’s a mistake AI should learn from.
