Can you build a successful tech product without a Computer Science degree? Absolutely. In fact, learning to build as a founder looks completely different than studying to become a software engineer.
Traditional Computer Science (CS) courses dive deep into theory and algorithms that are often far beyond the scope of what you need to launch a business. As an entrepreneur, your goal isn’t to pass a technical interview, it's to build a working product, talk to users, and iterate fast.
Led by a self-taught software engineer and Economics undergraduate, Ennis, who built an application with over 1,000 active users, this interactive workshop is designed specifically for non-technical students and aspiring founders. You will learn how to navigate the modern technical landscape, bypass academic fluff, and focus strictly on the skills required to get your MVP (Minimum Viable Product) off the ground.
Who Will You Hear From?
Ennis
Ennis is an economics undergraduate at the University of Calgary, a founding employee at CubeSource, and a self-taught software developer. Having built and scaled an online platform to over 1,300 active users without a formal computer science background, Ennis brings a grounded, real-world perspective to software development. He combines product-based thinking with hands-on technical execution, making technical tools, product design, and software engineering accessible to non-technical students and early-stage founders.
