​Every recruiter asks for one, but most students never get around to making it. In this hands-on workshop you’ll build your personal portfolio site from scratch and deploy it live, all in one evening.

​You’ll walk out with a real URL you can put on your résumé, LinkedIn and job applications.

​What you’ll do

• ​Set up your portfolio project from a starter template

• ​Make it yours: your projects, your story, your style

• ​Push your code to GitHub

• ​Deploy it live on the web

​Who it’s for
All students, any program, any year. If you’ve never built a website before, you’re welcome. Mentors from GDG York will be in the room to help you get unstuck.

​What to bring

• ​💻 Your laptop and charger (required, since this is hands-on)

• ​A free GitHub account (sign up before you arrive to save time)

• ​Optional: a list of projects, experiences or a résumé to pull content from
