Book presentation: ‘Sculptural Monuments of Palenque’ ("Monumentos Escultóricos de Palenque")
The Mexican Embassy in Germany is pleased to invite you to the launch of the book "Monumentos Escultóticos de Palenque", edited by Dr Martha Cuevas (National Institute of Anthropology and History, Mexico).
The book is the product of more than a decade of recording, documenting, restoring, and cataloging the sculptural art of the Mayan city of Lakamha in the Palenque region of Mexico. In their book, epigraphers Yuriy Polyukhovich (Ukraine) and Ángel Adrián Sánchez Gamboa (Mexico) bring together over 200 sculptural works, complemented by illustrations from Jorge Pérez de Lara Elías and Gabriel Cedillo García Lascurain, as well as drawings from various researchers. The presentation provides an opportunity to shed light on Mayan culture and the importance of such analyses.
