About Event

Join Verra for a full day of critical conversations at COP31 as we bring together Verra subject matter experts, industry leaders, and key decisionmakers to explore the opportunities, challenges, and emerging trends shaping the future of global carbon markets.

As carbon markets continue to evolve, new standards, policy frameworks, financial instruments, and corporate climate strategies are creating opportunities to scale high-integrity climate action. Through a series of expert-led panel discussions, we will examine some of the most consequential developments facing the market, with a focus on practical solutions, emerging opportunities, and the collaboration needed to accelerate implementation.

Set against the historic backdrop of Old Town Antalya, the day will feature thought-provoking discussions, opportunities for audience engagement, and dedicated networking breaks to connect with peers and leaders from across the carbon market ecosystem.

Guests are encouraged to attend one or all sessions that interest them.

Date: Tuesday, November 17, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm

Morning session

11:00–11:30   Coffee & Networking

11:30–12:30   Making Coal Phase-Out Investable: From Ambition to Transition Projects

Coal phase-out commitments will only deliver if they can be translated into financeable projects. This panel will explore how transition credits, renewable energy investment, and just-transition safeguards can work together in a corporate led construct to accelerate retirement of coal plants. Featuring perspectives from standards, finance, government, and a real-world project proponent, the discussion will focus on what is needed to take energy-transition commitments to implementation of coal retirement and scale.

Afternoon sessions

13:30–14:30   Scope 3 Moves to Implementation: Turning Corporate Commitments into Credible Value Chain Action

Companies are under growing pressure to show real progress on their Scope 3 emissions, but turning value chain commitments into measurable reductions and removals is still hard. This session will look at what it takes to move from ambition to implementation, including how to drive corporate action, what makes a Scope 3 project high quality, and how projects are designed and delivered on the ground. Featuring perspectives from corporate climate leadership, carbon ratings and project development, the discussion will focus on practical lessons and the role of emerging frameworks such as Verra's new Scope 3 Standard Program.

14:30–15:00   Coffee & Networking

15:00–16:00   One Credit, Many Markets: Meeting Voluntary, CORSIA and Article 6 Demand

Carbon credits can serve voluntary buyers, airlines meeting CORSIA obligations, and countries pursuing their NDC targets. This session will walk through the requirements a credit must meet for each market, from issuance to final use. It will unpack host country authorization and corresponding adjustments, including why they aren’t a prerequisite for high-quality voluntary claims, and cover how labels such as SD VISta and CCP can be stacked. Project developers, government representatives, and buyers will discuss the opportunities and trade-offs of operating across markets.

16:00–16:30   Coffee & Networking

16:30–17:30    Novel Approaches to Durability: Innovative Products for Carbon Markets

Insurance, funds and other new products are emerging as alternatives to traditional buffer pools for managing reversal risk. This session explores how these approaches work, what they mean for project developers and buyers, and early lessons from Verra’s durability pilot.

17:30–17:45   Closing Networking
