AIxBio Lagos Hackathon: Build Biology with an AI Agent
Tackle Real Biology Questions with Autonomous AI Agents
Computational biology has the potential to answer some of the most pressing questions in life sciences. Yet, turning a biological question into a working computational workflow often means wrestling with dependencies, configuring environments, debugging scripts, and struggling to reproduce results. AI agents can help automate this process, but ensuring that every step, decision, and output is traceable remains a challenge.
We are introducing Biosimulant which is a computational biology platform that enables AI agents to build, execute, and iterate on biological simulations and computational workflows, while keeping experiment steps and outputs traceable and reproducible all without the usual setup friction.
At the AIxBio Lagos Hackathon, participants will get free early access to Biosimulant and use the COB Stack (Claude or Codex on Biosimulant) to investigate real biological problems, build computational workflows, and explore what is possible when AI agents meet biology.
What You Will Do
Over 3 days, you will:
Investigate Real Biological Problems: Formulate and test computational hypotheses using autonomous agent workflows.
Skip the Setup Headaches: Use Biosimulant to bypass local environment and dependency friction.
Build Reproducible Science: Track the steps, scripts, and outputs generated by your agent, making your workflows easier to inspect and reproduce.
Collaborate and Showcase: Team up with builders across AI and the life sciences to demo your agent-driven discoveries.
Who Should Join?
Biologists and Life Scientists interested in running in silico experiments and exploring biological hypotheses.
Bioinformaticians looking to accelerate pipeline development and automate computational workflows.
AI/ML Engineers and Developers eager to apply frontier models such as Claude and Codex to real biological data.
Curious Builders excited to explore the possibilities of agentic science.
