Dutch Deep Tech Tour | Eindhoven: Semicon & MedTech
Home of pioneers in High-tech systems, Semiconductors and Medtech
The region of Brainport Eindhoven is one of Europe’s leading Deep Tech regions, home to a strong concentration of high-tech companies, research institutes and specialized campuses. Built on the historic legacy of Philips and the global impact of ASML, the region thrives through close collaboration between industry, academia and government.
The Dutch Deep Tech Tour Eindhoven welcomes international investors, corporates, startups and scale-ups interested in Deep Tech. Starting at Eindhoven University of Technology, participants can choose between two thematic tracks: Semicon or Medtech, depending on their strategic focus or technology domain. Participants can apply for one of the following tracks:
1. Semicon
The Semicon track highlights the Eindhoven region’s unique position in the global semiconductor ecosystem, combining leadership in equipment manufacturing with advanced software and AI capabilities. Participants can choose between two complementary subtracks, each addressing a critical aspect of the semiconductor value chain.
1a. Semicon – Scaling and manufacturing
This subtrack shows how Deep Tech innovations in semiconductors and advanced manufacturing scale from prototype to industrial production. Visits to the High Tech Campus Eindhoven (HTCE), Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) and ASML provide insight into industrialisation, advanced production technologies and value-chain collaboration. With major players like ASML, research institutes and specialised suppliers working closely together, the region demonstrates how shared facilities and joint innovation accelerate the path to scalable manufacturing.
1b. Semicon – AI applications in the physical world (Physical AI)
This subtrack focuses on how AI is applied within semiconductor equipment, manufacturing systems and other complex physical environments. Participants gain insight into how AI is embedded in machines and production processes—combining sensing, vision, mechatronics, simulation, control software and edge AI to improve performance, reliability and autonomy.
Through visits to the High Tech Campus Eindhoven (HTCE), Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) and ASML, the track showcases applied AI use cases such as smart inspection, predictive maintenance and autonomous industrial systems. The Eindhoven region demonstrates how AI strengthens the semiconductor ecosystem by enabling real-time decision-making and system-level optimisation under strict requirements for precision, safety and uptime.
2. Medtech - Developing and commercializing technology
This track focuses on the path from research to market in medical technology. Participants gain insight into innovation strategies, public–private collaboration, startup support and the role of end users through visits to Philips Experience Center, High Tech Campus Eindhoven (HTCE) and Brainport Industries Campus (BIC). With Philips’ heritage and a vibrant startup scene, the region demonstrates how medical technologies are developed, tested and brought into real-world application.
