From Fragments to Order; The Things We Carry
soul fly club x forthwrite presents:
from fragments to order; the things we carry
a reflective, community-centered workshop that weaves together poetry and collage as tools for self-inquiry, expression, and healing. grounded in the idea that we are constantly gathering and releasing pieces of ourselves, this workshop invites participants to explore the fragments of memory, identity, grief, joy, and transformation that shape who we are.
through guided writing prompts and intuitive collage-making, participants will reflect on what they carry, what they are ready to let go of, and what it means to gently bring themselves back together again. this space honors the complexity of becoming — the tenderness of reckoning with our many selves, and the beauty of meeting ourselves and one another exactly where we are.
schedule
hour 1: networking + refreshments
arrive, settle into the space, and connect with one another over light refreshments. this time is meant to create a welcoming and relaxed environment where folks can introduce themselves, share intentions, and begin building community before the creative work begins.
hour 2: poetry + journal writing
participants all will be offered a series of thoughtful prompts exploring memory, fragmentation, healing, and the pieces of ourselves we are learning to hold with care. through these prompts, participants will begin drafting poems that reflect what they are carrying, what they are releasing, and what they are learning to reclaim.
hour 3: collaging + assembling
in the final hour, participants will transform their written work into visual pieces through collage. using magazines, paper, textures, and other materials, we will assemble our poems alongside images and fragments that resonate with our words. this process invites participants to visually embody the act of gathering, rearranging, and honoring the many pieces that make us whole.
together, we will create, share (if we feel called), and witness the quiet power of reassembling our stories in community.
