About Event

As the West Coast’s oldest Episcopal church, Trinity St. Peter’s is powering its next century of service with a new 19 kW solar array.

This project, completed in partnership with RE-volv and California Interfaith Power & Light (CIPL), allows the church to serve San Francisco with clean, local energy while honoring its commitment to stewardship.

Transitioning to solar will save the church an estimated $261,000 in energy costs over time that they will redirect into vital food programs, community cleanups, and local ministries.

The celebration will include:

  • Short reflections from local faith and community leaders, including special guest Lavanya Deepak, Senior Racial Equity Coordinator for the San Francisco Environment Department

  • A ribbon-cutting ceremony

  • Light refreshments

  • Solar education booths & networking

We hope to see you there!

About the Partners

Trinity St. Peter’s Episcopal Church was established in 1849 as the "Mother Church of the Pacific Coast." The church delivers outsized community impact through its feeding programs, environmental clean ups, and its role as a venue for local concerts and civic gatherings.

RE-volv is an equity-informed, clean energy access organization that helps nonprofits in underinvested communities across the country go solar, while raising awareness about equitable climate solutions, and training the next generation of clean energy leaders. To date, RE-volv has developed and financed over 135 nonprofit solar projects in 20 states, collectively saving them $46 million on their electricity bills and allowing them to better serve their 380,000 beneficiaries.

California Interfaith Power & Light (CIPL) inspires and mobilizes people of faith and conscience to take bold, just action on climate change. CIPL works with over 600 congregations across California to promote energy stewardship, advocate for equitable climate policies, and care for our common home.
