compound hacks
Compound Hacks is a one-day hackathon for high school students, hosted by DevFintech.
Students show up in the morning, form teams, and start coding something that interacts with money. There are different themes for the hackathon; students have to work within these themes to create their entries for the competition. There are specific submission times (20:00) when all teams must deliver their projects.
Most participants have written some code in a class in their education but have never created software that ships outside of that classroom. There is a workshop right after the opening of the hackathon, as well as mentors on the coding floors throughout the day. Prizes are structured in a way that encourages first time participants to compete against each other, not against those with ten hackathon experiences under their belt.
You can register alone. Plenty of winning teams show up that morning to fill out the team-matching box.
