Poetry Launch: one day, we'll laugh about this by Sahara I. Mehdi
Book People is excited to host the launch of one day, we'll laugh about this, the new poetry collection from Toronto writer and poet Sahara I. Mehdi.
The collection is written in five chapters: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. It moves through the stages of grief while exploring girlhood, growing up, mental health, and Sahara's experiences as a disabled woman of colour. It's her most personal work yet, following Love Letters to Myself and reflections.
The evening will include a reading from the collection, a short conversation and audience Q&A, and a signing. Copies will be available to buy on the night.
Free to attend. Please RSVP so we can plan seating.
Our space has an accessible main-floor bathroom. There's no ramp at the entrance, so just give us a heads up and we'll make sure you're taken care of.
