From Case to Campus: Teaching With The Maplewood College Compendium
Maplewood College is a fully realized fictional campus designed to mirror the real-world complexity of student affairs work, from enrollment challenges to mental health, inclusivity, and campus politics. In this interactive session, author Laura De Veau, Ed.D., will host a guided exploration of how to teach with The Maplewood College Compendium in your own courses. Faculty will see how the book has already been used in Student Affairs, Field Study, and Student Development courses in HESA programs, and consider how similar approaches can align with their learning outcomes. Participants will leave with concrete course design ideas, sample assignments, discussion prompts, and implementation tips that can be adapted immediately for syllabi across graduate and undergraduate curricula.
