Cyber Skills for Good
Tech4Good South West and CyNam are inviting charities, community organisations, tech businesses and digital professionals for a focused conversation on cyber and tech skills-based volunteering in Gloucestershire and the wider South West.
Many VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) organisations are navigating increasing digital demands - from cyber security and data protection to digital marketing, AI and infrastructure. At the same time, our region is home to a wealth of cyber and tech talent keen to use their skills for social impact.
This session is part of Hub8's Connect Day, which brings the Gloucestershire tech community a day of networking, events and hotdesking. Together we will explore how we better connect these worlds with a particular focus on cyber sector skills.
Through discussion and local case studies - including examples of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives from tech businesses we’ll look at practical ways to:
Strengthen digital and cyber resilience in the VCSE sector
Enable meaningful, skills-based volunteering opportunities
Build sustainable partnerships between tech organisations and charities
Improve access to digital skills support across Gloucestershire and the South West
Speakers include:
Ed Howarth, Tech4Good South West
Charlotte Lipscombe, Social Value Lead, North Tower Consulting
Daniel Gale, Digital Equity Manager, GRCC Community Action in Gloucestershire
Whether you’re a VCSE organisation looking for support, a tech professional interested in volunteering, or a business exploring CSR and community impact, this session is an opportunity to connect, learn, and shape what stronger local collaboration could look like.
Join us to help grow a stronger, more digitally confident social sector across our region.
