Forest and Friends - March 20, 2025
As we start to see the first signs of spring, bud break slowly climbing up in elevation, it is time again for Forest and Friends. If you are on the eastside on Thursday March 20th, join us from 5:00-7:30pm at Cascadia Pizza (https://www.cascadiapizzaco.com/bellevue). We get together each month to discuss climate, forests, startups, GIS, and technology in general; come join the discussion among friends.
Our natural resource communities have been facing significant chaos and are under siege. This is a trying time for organizing human activity, but it is also a trying time for the forests as years of stress have been building towards more severe fire outcomes. The danger in our forests will continue to rise even if the humans are all distracted, we’ve got to make the deliberate effort to resist seeing our efforts scattered. Wildfire risk isn’t going to slow down or wait for us.
If you’ve been impacted by the recent cuts, either as a funding source or employment, come on out and talk with others in the same boat – and interested in what normal people can do to help.
Please join us for pizza and a pint as we talk about climate! We’ll be geeking out, enjoying the taplist, menu, and friendship while we talk forests, startups, GIS, policy, etc. I’ll be wearing a hardhat and cruising vest – feel free to walk right up and join our table.
