Join Lalita & Jamie for MoonSONG at Lalita's home in Montclair (Oakland, CA). Absolutely no singing experienced required! Hesitant shower singers especially encouraged to attend! This isn't about performance, it's about expression and connection.
We'll begin with a grounding meditation and introductions, and then teach a handful of empowering songs, call and echo-style. We share original music and often borrow from our favorite song catchers: Ahlay Blakely, Beautiful Chorus, MaMuse, Sarina Partridge, Maggie Wheeler, Heidi Ann Wilson, Aimée Ringle, Alexa Sunshine Rose & Samara Jade--to name a few!
There will be opportunities to build harmonies, improvise, and add percussion, as as well as to get to know one another, and feel your feelings!
Come as you are. Bring your grief, bring your joy, bring your meh. Let the sound hold it or transform it!
This event takes place during the Montclair Farmer's Market, which is just two blocks away. Participants often walk there before or after for lunch or shopping.
Best parking is at the end of my block in the Montclair Parking Garage (6235 La Salle Ave, Oakland, CA 94611). Garage is free on Sundays! (But please note parking meters are NOT!)
For now, these events are focused on adults, but kids 6 years+ that enjoy participating in song circles are welcome to join. We are considering adding childcare options for younger ones in the future.

Accessibility notes: There is a cat at the property and there are about 6 steps to the door. Please do not bring pets. The parking garage is a 5 minute walk from my house. Please let us know if you need extra support with arrival. Upon request, one driveway spot is available for those with mobility concerns.
