Collaboration & Partnering in Digital Health

This is an exclusive Health2Tech gathering in Berlin that will bring together the brightest minds in the digital health space. Hosted by Jack Godau, this evening great insights, inspiration and invaluable networking.

We'll dive into one of the most important challenges in HealthTech - finding and maintaining great partnerships!

We'll discuss which partnership models actually work between MedTech companies, pharma, startups and software providers?

  • Where do the biggest friction points arise in collaborations (regulatory, IP, data protection, accountability)?

  • How do you successfully move from pilot phase to real market integration for DiGA/DTx?

  • What role can payers and insurers play as partners rather than just gatekeepers?

  • Build, buy, or partner: how do companies make this decision strategically?

🤩 About the Panel

Moderator - Jack Godau is a freelance CTO for HealthTech at VRR Consulting, most recently he was CTO of doctorly. Jack is an experienced technical leader in healthtech who is now working as fractional and interim CTO in healthcare startups. His expertise lies in bridging the gaps between strategic business goals, the right technologies and hiring the best people thereby enabling organisations to not only adapt but thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

1st Panellist - Miriam Schulz is CEO & Co-Founder at BAYOOMED is a Digital health professional with 15+ years experience in (medical) software and apps for MedTech, LifeScience (IVD) and Pharma. Proven track record in software engineering, quality management systems, risk management, usability / human factors engineering and technical documentation. She is passionate about reimbursable digital health applications (DiGA), Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS), Digital Health Technologies (DHT), Agility, Connectivity (especially Drug Delivery Systems) and Cybersecurity.

2nd Panellist - Konstantinos Tsanakas is the founder and CEO of tiaas.tech, a specialized service provider for Germany’s Telematics Infrastructure (TI). With a background in software engineering and extensive experience in the DiGA ecosystem, he helps digital health companies integrate and operate TI services such as GesundheitsID, KIM, ePA, and VZD while navigating the complex technical and regulatory requirements of the German healthcare system.

3rd Panellist - Dr. Bernhard Wellhöfer is CTO and Head of Software Development at GAIA AG, and one of the few people in digital health who pairs hands-on engineering leadership with formal regulatory accountability, as GAIA's Person Responsible for Regulatory Compliance (PRRC) under the EU Medical Device Regulation. He owns the company's MDR compliance and certifications such as ISO 13485 and ISO/IEC 27001.
He has been with GAIA for more than 20 years, which makes him one of the longest-active technical leaders in the German digital therapeutics scene. Since 2005 he has led engineering across GAIA's portfolio of digital therapeutics, including deprexis, one of the most clinically studied digital treatments for depression worldwide, with more than a dozen randomized controlled trials behind it. He and his team were building software as a medical device long before DiGA and DTx became regulated categories.
He holds a PhD in computer science and a degree in mathematics from the University of Osnabrück. On the panel he will look at how AI is starting to move into digital therapeutics, and what that means for evidence, regulation and partnering.

4th Panellist - Kathrin Pfeiffer is Director Legal & Market Access at Sympatient GmbH, the Hamburg-based company behind Invirto, a prescribable digital health application (DiGA) for the treatment of anxiety disorders. She leads the company's market access and legal work and manages the partnerships that bring digital therapeutics into routine care, operating at the intersection of German reimbursement frameworks (§ 33a and § 140a SGB V), platform-based psychotherapy and digital health.
Kathrin combines a background as a medical engineer with medical training, giving her a foundation that spans the technical and clinical sides of digital health. Before joining Sympatient, she worked at the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), where her roles included Deputy Head of the DiGA Fast-Track, the pathway that governs how digital health applications reach patients and payers in Germany. Her experience also covers clinical trials and vigilance for medical devices.
