Forest walk: Reconnect with nature
Most of us living in cities already feel something missing from our lives; A sense of belonging, of being embraced by the rest of the world, of being supported by nature. Our stories are still telling us that we are entirely separate from nature and our homes are built accordingly. We already intuitively know and science is pretty unambiguous about the fact that nature connectedness helps us with our mental health, our sense of identity, our sense of purpose, our hope for the future. And yet, for most of us it is quite difficult to nurture an ongoing relationship and to get to know nature in deeper ways.
That's why we wanted to move beyond simply talking about this, to doing the practical work itself, in the form of a nature immersion.
This forest walk is an opportunity for getting to know Finnish nature on a deeper level and fostering an intentional relationship with her. Going beyond using nature for our own benefit, to placing ourselves back within living systems with love and humility and co-stewarding the future of our lands.
Through our time together we will take a walk through Espoon Keskuspuisto, appreciate the beauty of the forest, develop intentional practices for seeing nature as a relationship rather than a resource, explore our own stories and emotions when it comes to nature, express our feelings through creating art and share the time with a community of folks who can support that work.
