It Takes a Village: A Faith-Inspired Approach to Nurturing Children and Restoring Nature
Hosted by Islamic Help at the Faith Hub, Blue Zone, CBD COP17 (Yerevan, Armenia).
What if restoring nature could also help children thrive?
The Children's Eco Village in Tanzania, a flagship initiative of Islamic Help, offers a practical example of how biodiversity conservation, environmental stewardship and child development can work hand in hand. The Eco Village integrates habitat restoration, sustainable food production, renewable energy, water stewardship and environmental education into the daily lives of children and the surrounding community.
Drawing inspiration from Al Mizan – A Covenant for the Earth, the session will highlight the importance of partnerships, shared responsibility and community action in delivering the goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
