Parallax Angels 002 — An Afternoon of Found Art at the Bulb
A new kind of angel community continues at one of the strangest, most beautiful outdoor art galleries in the Bay Area. A wild peninsula built entirely from what people left behind, jutting straight into the San Francisco Bay. This is where we'll spend our Saturday morning.
Rather than pitch nights and demos days we wanted to begin somewhere else — with curiosity, trust, and the conversations that happen before anyone asks for anything. And somewhere better — a reclaimed landfill turned artist-built shoreline, covered in decades of driftwood towers, found-object sculpture, and DIY structures made by the people who once called this place home. Parallax Angels is a community built on shared experience, not transactions. This is event 002. Terrific people, one wild waterfront afternoon, no deals or pitches.
The plan:
10:00 — Arrive. Meet at a parking lot nearby, details will be sent to attendees.
10:15 — Carpool. Parking right at the Bulb is limited, so we highly encourage to carpool and make new friends. It's just a few minutes away. Please bring/keep layers with you, it gets really windy.
10:30 — Explore the Grounds. A loop along the shoreline trail past the Bulb's found-art landmarks — driftwood towers, painted-rock cairns, salvaged-material sculpture, and sweeping views back across the water to the San Francisco skyline.
11:30 — The Problem Drop. Our signature session version 2.0. We collect your top of the mind problems at registration on Luma or you can add them anonymously, pen and paper onsite. We do a meta analysis to pick the themes and explore some of them together — matched with people around the circle who have lived through similar challenges. No names or judgment, real answers.
12:45 — The Parallax Shot. Our signature group photo — this time set against one of the wildest backdrops in the Bay.
01:00 — Wrap + Carpool Back. Head back to the carpool parking lot together.
Who's invited: Angels (aspiring or experienced), founders (first company or fifth), and operators who are angel or founder curious. Whether you've written a hundred checks or none, built three companies or are still working up the nerve, you'll fit.
Cost: Free/At Cost. Always. We believe the best communities are built around people, not sponsorships.
What to bring: Sunscreen, a windbreaker or extra layer (it gets breezy right on the water), and closed-toe shoes — the terrain is uneven and rocky in places.
Logistics:
Free parking at the gathering area. Limited parking directly at the Bulb — we'll carpool over together.
Restrooms are available in the gathering spot before we leave; the Bulb itself has only a single vault toilet.
Dogs: Albany Bulb is an off-leash dog area.
We pack out everything we bring.
Your Hosts:
Amit Bagree: 2 decades in Cybersecurity, a decade in public markets, over 5 years Angel investing. LP and potential future GP. Founder of RideTheDrop.com.
Na Li: Materials scientist and deep tech entrepreneur, with experience on the venture side of the table as a fellow and resident. She spends her days deep in the weeds as an operator, but she is the happiest out in nature building genuine connections.
A note on photos: To capture the moments and stories of this community we photograph our gatherings, including aerial footage. If you prefer not to appear in identifiable photos, simply let a host know beforehand. We'll happily respect that.
Capacity is intentionally limited. If you found your way here without an invitation, introduce yourself in a sentence or two. We personally review every request.
