About Event

🎤 Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how we design, research, and understand users but as AI becomes part of our creative process, one question continues to spark debate:

"Is using AI in UX research truly ethical and correct?" 🤔

To explore this thought-provoking topic, IxDF Bangalore and IxDF Stockholm are coming together for a friendly cross-chapter debate that dives into both sides of this evolving conversation on 25th October (Saturday) at 7:30 Pm IST (4 PM Swedish time) Virtually.

This session will explore the possibilities, dilemmas, and responsibilities that come with integrating AI into our design research practices.

🧩 How It Works:

Four leads: two from IxDF Stockholm and two from IxDF Bangalore, will kick off the debate with their opening statements, representing both sides: For and Against the motion.

After that, participants can join in!

🔸️Introduce yourself briefly.

🔸️Mention whether you’re for or against the topic.

🔸️Present your thoughts, opinions, or real-world examples.

💬 A host/moderator will guide the discussion, ensuring it stays insightful, balanced, and of course friendly!

💡 To Help You Prepare:

FOR the topic (AI use in UX Research is ethical and correct):

1. AI speeds up data analysis and identifies patterns humans might miss.

2. It reduces personal bias in interpreting user data.

3. AI supports accessibility by simulating diverse user needs.

4. Enables hyper-personalized, data-driven user experiences.

5. Ethical use depends on intent and frameworks, transparency, consent, and fairness.

AGAINST the topic (AI use in UX Research is not ethical or correct):

1. AI models often reflect bias in the data they’re trained on.

2. It raises privacy and consent issues, especially with sensitive user data.

3. AI lacks human empathy, critical in understanding user emotions.

4. Black-box algorithms make decisions less transparent.

5. AI-driven insights can be exploited for manipulation rather than user benefit.

Whether you stand for or against, your perspective matters!

Come together for an engaging exchange of ideas where we challenge, learn, and rethink the future of ethical AI in UX Research.
