About Event

Hack for Health Equity: Turning Global Challenges into Scalable Public Health Solutions

This international public health–driven hackathon brings together students, early-career researchers, and young professionals from diverse disciplines and regions to address pressing health and societal challenges.

The focus is on applied, implementation-oriented solutions that:

  • Strengthen health systems

  • Reduce health inequalities

  • Improve population-level outcomes

The world needs a new generation of health leaders who can translate evidence, creativity, and collaboration into solutions that matter. This international hackathon is designed to support students and early-career professionals in moving from ideas to implementation-ready public health innovations.

Registration deadline: Sunday, 15 March 2026
In the final 48h we are only allowing team (2-5 people) registrations!

Hackathon dates:
Friday 27 – Sunday 29 March 2026
Format: Online participation

All selected participants will be contacted individually by email ahead of the hackathon to confirm participation and receive onboarding materials and full access details.

Key milestones for selected teams:

  • 7 April 2026: Winner announcement (World Health Day)

  • 18–23 May 2026: Project presentation opportunity at the World Health Assembly, Geneva

  • 6 September 2026: Selected project presentation at the WFPHA Global Meeting, Cape Town
