Encare Hackathon
Join an exciting hackathon together with LiU AI Society and the medtech company Encare - Enhancing ERAS®. Compete in teams, develop creative solutions, and explore how synthetic patient data can be used to solve real-world healthcare challenges. The task is to create realistic patient data without using sensitive or identifiable information.
Compete for a prize pool of 5,000 SEK and win Webhallen gift cards worth 500 SEK for each member of the winning team.
𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿: Real patient data will not be used in the hackathon and ENCARE does not use patient data without explicit authorization

📅 We offer four opportunities to meet on campus and work together:
April 16 – Thursday, 17:30–20:00 – kickoff evening (mandatory attendance)
April 19 – Sunday, 13:00–17:00
April 21 – Tuesday, 17:30–20:00
April 23 – Thursday, 17:30–20:00 – final evening

• An introduction to Encare and how they work with ERAS to create a platform that helps improve surgical care and patient outcomes
• A hackathon where you will work in teams to develop solutions for creating synthetic patient data that is both realistic and compliant with ethical and legal guidelines
• Friendly coding sessions with snacks provided, and pizza on the final evening
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄?
The hackathon requires some basic knowledge of AI, machine learning, or statistics, but you do not need to be an expert. Having some familiarity with any of these areas will go a long way. The main focus is on collaboration, creative thinking, and testing ideas. Whether you are relatively new to the field or more experienced, there are great opportunities to contribute while also learning more about AI, data, and digital health.
