Conversations led by Elsie Escobar, Creator Success & Community Manager.
The Reality Check
You are an audio podcaster. You care about the voice, the intimacy of the microphone, and recording in a space where you feel comfortable. Whether you are still deciding if video is right for your show, or you have already started and feel overwhelmed by the change, you are looking for clarity. This session helps you define your path and improve your current process while keeping your identity and your path!
The Audio-to-Video Roadmap is a Captivate Growth Labs series where we talk shop with creators who successfully added video to their audio shows. They share what they learned and how they work.
What we cover
We discuss technical specifics and real-world implementation:
Workflows: Real processes for recording, editing and building support.
Tech: Hardware and software that works for podcasters who prioritize sound. We focus on tools that are functional and get the job done.
Time: An honest look at the time investment and mindset. We show what it takes to add video while keeping your production consistent and your setup manageable.
Event guest: Greg Willits
Greg Willits has been creating media and building online communities since the late 90s. He started the Rosary Army podcast in 2004 as an audio-only show. His work across audio and video has reached over six million downloads.
Greg brings a unique perspective shaped by both high-level technical experience and professional broadcasting. He spent a decade in the IT industry developing software for major corporations like IBM and Lotus, and later spent over four years as a daily national talk radio host on SiriusXM.
For the past few years, Greg has navigated the transition from audio-only to incorporating video through live streaming, standalone productions and of taking his audio only podcast to video. He joins us to share how he manages the "time tax" of video, the traps he found during all the shifts, and how he uses his background in tech and talk radio to maintain a sustainable, high-quality production.
