About Event

Meet Kathleen Moynahan in this one hour preview of the full-day workshop on Friday May 8, 2026 at the Centre for Digital Media in Vancouver. This info session will be on Zoom.

Kat will walk through the principles guiding the course and facilitate a Q&A.

Who Should Attend

  • Product designers and UX/UI designers who want extend their full-stack design capabilities

  • Product managers and leaders who want to understand how AI agents will change product development workflows and lead teams to incorporate AI innovations

  • Producers and senior technical artists who want to reduce time spent on research, prototyping, and documentation

  • Creative directors and technical artists who work at the intersection of design and production

  • Founders and entrepreneurs who are looking for fast, practical up-skilling to realize their product ideas

Prerequisites

  • Familiarity with product design workflows and the software development lifecycle

  • Experience working within cross-functional product or development teams

  • Basic exposure to LLM tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Midjourney is helpful but not required

  • You must bring your own laptop

  • A Claude Max plan (CAD$140) is needed, with Claude Desktop installed

  • One of Figma, Miro, or other design tool is required.

Instructors

Kat Moynahan is a senior product design professional with over a decade of experience at the intersection of design, technology, and AI. She has led product and UX initiatives at Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase, and Accenture Tech Labs, where she built the Visual Literacy Program, a global capability-building initiative that scaled design thinking across a large practitioner community through adoption-first principles rather than top-down mandates.

Kat holds a BFA from Simon Fraser University and an MFA in Design from California College of the Arts. Today, she works with B2B and B2C startups on product strategy, journey mapping, customer research, and AI UX, helping teams understand not just how to build with AI, but how to design for it responsibly and effectively.

Her hands-on expertise includes prototyping with code and using AI throughout the design process from generating and stress-testing concepts, to building interactive prototypes that communicate ideas with real fidelity. She helps designers move beyond static mockups and into working product thinking, using AI tools to compress timelines, sharpen decision-making, and close the gap between design intent and shipped experience.

Overview

Agentic AI for Product Designers is a practitioner-led, full-day workshop designed for experienced designers who want to lead, not follow, the shift to agentic product development. The curriculum is grounded in real production workflows. This is hands-on-keyboards!

The day runs in two arcs. The morning builds the foundation: how AI agents map to the product development lifecycle, how agentic systems work, and how to develop product ideas using AI for research and documentation. The afternoon goes hands-on with the two capabilities that change the designer's role most: creating production-ready functional prototypes and integrating design systems to guide AI agent development.

You will not write code. You will direct systems that do.

Learning Outcomes

  • Direct agentic systems using design judgment, not code

  • Build a production-ready design system using AI-assisted workflows

  • Integrate a design system as a constraint layer inside an agentic development pipeline

  • Map your product's highest-leverage opportunities for agentic AI

  • Lead cross-functional teams through the design-to-deployment pipeline with confidence

  • Apply a repeatable agentic design workflow to any future project

Certification

Participants who complete the workshop receive a certificate of completion issued by the Centre for Digital Media upon successful completion.
