About Event

Why does capital flow where it flows across African markets and what is it failing to see, price, or structure elsewhere?

This is the second workshop in the Africa Investment Dialogue series, a cross-regional investor discussion exploring how capital is allocated, priced, and evaluated across African markets.

Building on Workshop 1, which surfaced how investors often apply broad regional assumptions and inherited benchmarks that fail to reflect local market realities, Workshop 2 moves from market assumptions to capital behavior.

The discussion will examine why capital concentrates in certain African markets, what risks investors are pricing correctly or incorrectly, and how fund mandates, currency exposure, regulation, and exit pathways shape investment decisions across the continent.

Confirmed panelists:

Discussion angles:

  • Capital concentration vs opportunity distribution: Is capital flowing to the best opportunities or to the markets investors know how to underwrite?

  • Currency, regulation, and risk pricing: Which risks can be priced, hedged, or should change the investment decision entirely?

  • Fund mandates and local capital gaps: Are Africa-focused funds structurally designed to invest across the markets they claim to cover?

  • Exit pathways and ecosystem readiness: What makes a market exit-ready and how should investors underwrite different exit paths?

Format: Panel discussion followed by open investor discussion

Please note that registration is subject to approval.
