Energy, Power and Geopolitics
Is the energy transition still a climate story — or has it become a power story?
The politics of net zero are shifting. Energy security has moved up the agenda. And the conversation businesses need to have about transition is no longer the one they were having two years ago.
For London Climate Action Week, The Hanwell Group is hosting a private breakfast roundtable with Hilkka Komulainen, Global Head of Sustainability and Impact at Quinbrook - a specialist investment manager focused exclusively on energy transition infrastructure, with a global portfolio spanning renewable power, storage and digital infrastructure.
She is also a member of Quinbrook’s global Investment Committee. Prior to this, she was Head of Responsible Investment at Aegon UK, the UK’s largest investment platform.
Hilkka will lead a discussion on how geopolitics is reshaping the transition: US-China competition, critical mineral supply chains, energy security, rising demand, and the changing politics of net zero.
As climate moves from the sustainability team to the boardroom, the stakes around how organisations explain risk, build trust and make the case for long-term action are higher than ever.
Join us at 8.15 for breakfast. Roundtable begins at 8.30.
Space is limited.
