Virtual Fireside & AMA with Henry Tan (Rufus, xGoogle Brain, Microsoft Research)
Excited to host my brilliant friend for a virtual fireside and AMA.
Henry Tan is a principal engineer driving planet-scale search innovation at Amazon Rufus, where he pioneers the integration of Generative AI into global search systems.
Previously at Google Brain, Henry played a key role in building the foundation of modern AI infrastructure — from co-leading the Text Embedding API that powered Google’s LLM era to being a founding engineer behind Google Cloud Video Intelligence (unveiled at #GoogleNext17 by Fei-Fei Li).
Earlier in his career, he helped incubate Microsoft’s distributed deep learning platform (Project Adam) and Bing’s BigIndex. As a startup co-founder, Henry grew an AI venture from inception to a multi-million-dollar valuation with venture backing.
Henry holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Technology, Sydney, and Masters at MIT and Oxford.
Passionate about innovation, Henry invests, coaches, and builds new ventures at the intersection of AI, business, and impact.
