NAKED (Maria Gaia Marotta)
The project portrays the vulnerability of the viewer while watching a film, when every defence comes down. A cinema full of undressed people, and a nudity that is not erotic but emotional and symbolic. A pop, choral image, where the contrast between the everyday and exposure represents being "naked" in front of a story.
A photographer and visual artist born in Rome, she trained at IED and has international experience as an Art Director in London. Her work explores human relationships, identity and the tensions of everyday life, through narrative, real and cinematic images. Inspired by photography, cinema and literature, she develops personal, editorial and advertising projects that combine atmosphere, authenticity and imagination.
