Fostering AI Resilience in the EU Labour Market (Brussels AGI Collective)
Join us on Thursday, 11 June at 18:00 at the Commons Hub Brussels for an evening on what AI means for the future of work in Europe.
Fostering AI Resilience in the EU Labour Market
Around a third of EU residents used generative AI in 2025, and the technology is already reshaping how work gets done and which sectors face the sharpest shifts. Unlike previous waves of automation, this one reaches into cognitive, non-routine tasks — and on current trajectories, it will reshape the foundations of how labour markets, education, and welfare systems function. The EU AI Act governs how AI systems are deployed and used, but the broader implications for Europe's political economy demand fresh policy thinking.
A new policy brief from the European Policy Centre offers an early, data-driven assessment of the EU labour market's readiness for AI. It maps patterns of exposure and complementarity across the Union, looks at how effects break down by demographics, and sets out concrete recommendations on skills, equality, demographic change, and the welfare state. We'll be joined by one of the authors, Samuel Goodger, Policy Analyst in the Health and Societal Resilience Programme at the EPC, to walk us through the findings and what credible policy responses might look like.

This event is organised by the Brussels AGI Collective, a community exploring what advanced AI means for Europe's future, and supported by BlueDot Impact, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing AI safety by training and connecting talented people to work on technical, policy, and societal challenges. Since 2021, BlueDot has trained over 7,000 people worldwide, with thousands already working in high impact roles at places such as Anthropic, Google DeepMind, and the UK’s AI Security Institute.
We are delighted to be hosted at Commons Hub Brussels, a citizen-led community centre at the heart of Brussels.
