​From Scripts to Scale: A Platform Engineering Journey

​Claudio Silva is a Lead DevOps Architect at Zühlke Singapore, where he helps organizations design and build secure, scalable cloud platforms.

​Most teams start with a CI/CD pipeline and a couple of EC2 instances and call it DevOps. In the session we walk through the full journey, from those first pipelines and manual deployments, through the growing pains of scale, all the way to a production-grade cloud-native platform with self-service infrastructure, automated compliance, and AI-assisted delivery workflows. Claudio will share lessons learned, real failures. Understand the a practical maturity ladder you can use to assess where your team is today and what it takes to get to the next level.

​AI Builds The Product: When Build-Time AI Beats Run-Time AI

​Ned Lowe is the CTO of MISSION+. Previously CTO of Singlife and a veteran of Bank of America Merrill Lynch and AWS

​There are two modes of AI operation, and conflating them muddies a lot of waters. "AI Is The Product" runs the model at run-time: every request is a model call, paid for in tokens and rolled like dice. "AI Builds The Product" runs the model once at build-time to produce a deterministic artefact (e.g. code, config, a test suite) that ships through your pipelines like everything else.

​DevOps teams know this instinct: it's what took us from snowflake servers to infrastructure as code. We will walk through scenarios where everyone instinctively reaches for run-time AI and show how flipping to build-time yields something cheaper, faster, and fails in exactly the same way every time.
