About the Salon and Conversation

What happens when an AI agent moves out of the cloud and closer to the sensor?

This Friday, Second Brain Lab welcomes Vidya Sagar Reddy Venna,an Electrical Engineering graduate researcher at USC working across signal processing, machine learning, robotics, and intelligent systems.

He will share an early-stage build from his current project: a voice-driven smart-home agent running on a $13 ESP32-S3**, with a self-evolving memory system designed to make AI more useful at the edge.

Conversation Topics

Rather than presenting a polished product, this session is an honest look at the engineering process:

Voice-driven AI on the edge — how a low-cost ESP32-S3 can become an intelligent interface

Self-evolving memory— designing memory for an agent that can learn and adapt over time

Audio pipeline — from voice signal to usable agent interaction

Offline wake-word evaluation— measuring what actually works when the system runs near the sensor

Making AI measurable — moving from “the model seems to work” toward concrete evaluation

Making AI cheap enough to deploy— exploring the tradeoffs between intelligence, latency, compute, and cost

From AI models to intelligent devices — what happens when AI becomes part of the physical environment

Why this matters for Second Brain

Second Brain is not only about giving AI more context. It is also about giving AI **memory, perception, and a physical place to operate**.

This project sits at an interesting intersection:

Signal → Perception → Model → Memory → Agent → Device → Environment

It raises a bigger question:

Can we build personal AI systems that are not only intelligent, but also measurable, affordable, persistent, and close to the human environment?Come with questions, ideas, experiments, or your own builds. This is a working session, not a finished-product demo— the goal is to look honestly at what works, what fails, and what we can learn from building AI at the edge.

About Second Brain AI Salon

AI is becoming more capable every day, but one fundamental challenge remains: memory.

How can AI understand context, learn from experiences, and collaborate with humans over time?

The Second Brain AI Salon is a weekly gathering in San Francisco bringing together AI builders, founders, engineers, researchers, and thinkers for open conversations about the future of AI, memory, agents, and human-AI collaboration.

This 8-week conversation series explores how AI will evolve from powerful tools into intelligent collaborators.

Join the Conversation

Second Brain AI Salon is intentionally small and conversational.

We welcome founders, engineers, researchers, educators, designers, students, builders, and curious minds who are interested in where AI is heading — and what humans will become alongside it.

Second Brain AI Salon

Exploring memory, intelligence, and human–AI collaboration — one conversation at a time.

AI is becoming more capable every day. But as AI becomes more intelligent, one fundamental question becomes increasingly important:

How can AI understand context, learn from experience, and collaborate with humans over time?

Second Brain AI Salon is a weekly gathering in San Francisco bringing together AI builders, founders, engineers, researchers, educators, and independent thinkers for open conversations about the future of AI memory, agents, intelligent systems, and human–AI collaboration.

Across eight Fridays, we are exploring a broader question:

How does AI evolve from a powerful tool into an intelligent collaborator?

Each week approaches this question from a different angle — from memory and education to agents, software creation, human–AI collaboration, and ultimately the communities and systems that will shape the next generation of Silicon Valley.

    • Who you are

    • What you are building / working on

    • What you are looking for

    • One question you would like to discuss

  4. Respect the Closing Time
We aim to wrap up the conversation around 5:00 PM, followed by a group photo and an invitation to join our WhatsApp community. The LinkedIn public space closes at 6:00 PM. Please cooperate with building security and leave the venue by 5:55 PM.
