Stefnumótunarfundur Samtaka um mannvæna tækni
Hvert eigum við að beina kröftum okkar næstu mánuði?
Tækniþróunin er hröð og viðfangsefnin mörg: gervigreind, börn og samfélagsmiðlar/spjallmenni, lýðræði og upplýsingaumhverfi, vinnumarkaðurinn, stafrænt fullveldi, gagnaver og innviðir svo eitthvað sé nefnt. Samtök um mannvæna tækni hafa takmarkaða krafta og því þurfum við að velja hvar við getum haft mest áhrif.
Við bjóðum öllum á vinnufund þar sem við ætlum saman að móta áherslur samtakanna fyrir næstu 4–6 mánuði.

Dagskrá
1. Hvar stöndum við? – stutt yfirlit
Við byrjum á stuttri yfirferð yfir helstu breytingar og áskoranir í tækniumhverfinu, hvað Center for Humane Technology í BNA leggur áherslu á um þessar mundir, hvað er að gerast á Norðurlöndum og í Evrópu og hvaða mál eru sérstaklega á döfinni hér á Íslandi.
2. Hvar getur SUMT haft áhrif? – hugmyndavinna
Þátttakendur velta fyrir sér hvaða þróun skiptir mestu máli, hvar tækifæri eru til áhrifa á næstu mánuðum og hvað SUMT getur lagt til.
3. Hugmyndir teknar saman og forgangsraðað
Þátttakendur forgangsraða þeim málum sem þeir telja að samtökin eigi helst að einbeita sér að.
4. Stefnumótun
Út frá niðurstöðunum mótum við sameiginlega sýn og veljum 2–3 megináherslur fyrir tímabilið.
5. Hvað gerum við næst?
Við skoðum hvað þarf að gerast innan hverrar áherslu, hvaða hlutverki SUMT getur gegnt, með hverjum við þurfum að vinna og hver fyrstu skrefin verða.
Markmið fundarins
Í lok fundar stefnum við að því að hafa:
• sameiginlega stefnu fyrir næstu sex mánuði
• 2–3 skýrar forgangsáherslur
• hugmynd um hvaða breytingum við viljum ná fram
• fyrstu skref til að koma þeim í framkvæmd

Strategy Meeting of the Icelandic Association for Humane Technology
Where should we focus our efforts over the coming months?
Technological development is moving quickly, and the issues are many: artificial intelligence, children and social media/chatbots, democracy and the information environment, the labour market, digital sovereignty, data centres and infrastructure, to name just a few. The Icelandic Association for Humane Technology has limited resources, so we need to decide where we can have the greatest impact.
We invite you to a working session where we will shape the association’s priorities for the next 4–6 months together.

Programme
1. Where are we now? – a short overview
We will begin with a brief overview of the main changes and challenges in the technology landscape, what the Center for Humane Technology in the US is currently focusing on, what is happening in the Nordic countries and Europe, and which issues are particularly relevant in Iceland right now.
2. Where can SUMT have an impact? – brainstorming session
Participants will consider which developments matter most, where there are opportunities to influence change over the coming months, and what SUMT can contribute.
3. Bringing ideas together and prioritising
Participants will prioritise the issues they believe the association should focus on most.
4. Strategy development
Based on the results, we will develop a shared direction and select 2–3 main priorities for the period ahead.
5. What do we do next?
We will look at what needs to happen within each priority area, what role SUMT can play, who we need to work with, and what the first steps should be.
Aim of the meeting
By the end of the session, we aim to have:
• a shared strategy for the next six months
• 2–3 clear priority areas
• an idea of the changes we want to achieve
• first steps towards putting them into practice
The meeting is open to all.
