Faith in Action for Biodiversity: A Whole-of-Society Approach to Resilient Landscapes and Communities

Hosted by Africa4Resilience (A4R), LM International at the Faith Hub, Blue Zone, CBD COP17 (Yerevan, Armenia).

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) calls for a whole-of-society approach to reversing biodiversity loss. Translating global commitments into meaningful local action requires strong civil society engagement, trusted institutions, community ownership, the integration of faith, diverse knowledge systems and partnerships across sectors.

Africa4Resilience (A4R) is a regional Community of Practice connecting civil society, faith, government agencies, academia, humanitarian and development actors, while centering communities across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Burkina Faso.

A4R representatives from Center for Evangelism (Uganda), LM International (Kenya), ADRA (Uganda), and Navigators Burkina Faso – EMPE will bring practical faith-based perspectives, demonstrating how faith can contribute to biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, resilient landscapes and sustainable livelihoods.

The session will use short practical presentations, facilitated dialogue and audience engagement, and conclude with a practical call to action for faith actors and the wider civil society community.
