Intro to Soldering

​Learn the basics of through-hole soldering using an electronics kit provided by the Sandbox. You’ll practice joining components to a circuit board, learn how to use the soldering equipment safely, and test your work along the way.

​There’s room to experiment, make mistakes, and ask questions—with help nearby. No previous soldering or electronics experience is needed.

​Who can attend
Open to UC San Diego affiliates only, including students, staff, and faculty. These workshops are not open to the general public.

​Before you arrive
You’ll need a Sandbox account before using the makerspace. If you don’t already have one, create your Sandbox account in advance so you can spend more time making when you arrive.

​If your plans change
Our workshops fill quickly, and places are limited. Please register only if you expect to attend, and cancel your Luma registration as soon as you know you can’t make it. That gives another member of the UC San Diego community a chance to participate.
