About Event

What is it actually like to work in venture capital — not the LinkedIn version, but the real one?

In this session, Jun Qu of Main Sequence Ventures joins us for an open, unscripted conversation about the day-to-day reality of life as a VC: where the time actually goes, how the job changes as you move from analyst to partner, and the parts of the work that are genuinely great — alongside the parts no one puts in the job description.

We'll also get practical about the question on a lot of minds: what does it take to break in to careers in VC?

Expect honest reflections, possible myths busted, and plenty of room for your questions.

If you're curious whether a career in venture is for you, or just want a clear-eyed look behind the curtain, this talk is for you.

Jun is a Principal at Main Sequence where he helps Australian scientists and entrepreneurs create, build, and scale the next generation of deep tech companies that will change the world. Jun is focused on early stage investments in the industrial-tech and space sectors and also sits on the Boards of a number of companies in those areas. Prior to joining Main Sequence, Jun spent most of his career in engineering and industrial operations.

Sydney Venture Partners (SVP) is a venture training and scouting program created by University of Sydney MBA students. We help students launch careers in VC and startups.
