Join students, faculty, and members of the Houston community for an open discussion on advanced AI, existential risk, and what recent progress might mean in practice. We’ll cover where AI systems are today, why some researchers are worried about increasingly autonomous and intelligent systems, where skeptics disagree, and what newly revealed capabilities mean for three areas:
Swarm behavior and cyberrisk
Biosecurity and weapons development
Academia and knowledge work
No technical background required. Come to discuss, update beliefs, and learn. Dinner provided.
