SCetchCamp: Coffee + fineliners
For updates: Link for the WhatsApp group
In this SCetch Camp session, we’ll explore the cozy and delicious world of pastry sketching using fineliners and coffee. This session is not about creating perfect illustrations — it is about observation, texture, atmosphere, and learning how to capture the charm of everyday café moments on paper.
Our academic focus will be texture, linework, and visual storytelling. We’ll experiment with different fineliner techniques to create flaky croissants, soft cakes, swirls of cinnamon rolls, powdered sugar, chocolate drizzles, and other pastry details. Coffee will be used as a natural painting medium to add warm tones, shadows, and a vintage sketchbook feel.
We’ll first practice drawing different pastry textures and shapes, learning how to simplify them into easy-to-draw forms. Then we’ll combine these elements into a finished café-inspired sketchbook page featuring pastries, coffee cups, small decorative elements, and personal touches.
No previous experience is needed. We are here to explore, try things out, and learn together in a soft, creative, cozy atmosphere. Materials are provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own favorite fineliners,or sketchbook if you like.
You’ll learn: How to draw pastries using simple shapes, how to create texture with fineliners, how to use coffee as a painting medium, and how to make your sketchbook pages feel warm, lively, and full of personality.
