Tokyo Tech Talks #9, "Laser Chess and the Consequences of Deterministic Games," is coming up on Tuesday, October 27.
In Laser Chess, there are no dice and no hidden cards. Every piece is on the board, every move is visible, and the laser always follows the same path through the same mirrors. If nothing is left to chance, what is actually left to play for?
On October 27, Ai Sekine, a mathematics and engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh, will use Laser Chess as a starting point to explore what it means for a game to be deterministic, and what follows once every outcome is fixed by the rules and the moves.
No game theory background required. Just bring your curiosity, and stay for drinks and conversation afterward.
Tokyo Tech Talks #9「Laser Chess and the Consequences of Deterministic Games」
Laser Chess
