In just the last few days, Danny Boyle has been pulling apart media, power and influence with Ink. Robert Pattinson has arrived with Primetime, a film playing with that increasingly uncomfortable line between truth, entertainment and spectacle. And Liam and Noel Gallagher have somehow made reconciliation one of the stories of the festival, bringing Oasis back together on the Lido for Don’t Look Back in Anger.
George Clooney has also been talking about the future of creativity around the festival, while receiving his Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement — which feels rather appropriate for a Venice where the conversation beyond the cinema is becoming almost as interesting as what is happening inside it.
So tomorrow we’re stealing a few hours of Venice for ourselves.
Drinks becoming dinner, dinner becoming conversations, and no particular requirement to stay on the subject we started with.
We’re bringing together a small collision of people from film, art, technology, investment, luxury, entrepreneurship and the wonderfully difficult-to-categorise spaces in between.
Away from the red carpets and premieres, we're bringing together a carefully curated group of investors, founders, filmmakers, artists, family offices, luxury brands and creative entrepreneurs for an intimate evening of conversation over drinks, followed by a private dinner.
Our dinner will explore a simple question:
