Kids Wholistic Creativity and STEM Class #002
Kids Wholistic Creativity and STEM Class, specifically created for kids from 2 to 12 years of age. Each one has their personalized exercises and space for creativity, play and learning.
It includes:
5 minute arrival exercise. Breathing, mindfulness, gentle movements.
10 minute Movement and Mind Body Connection. Gentle stretches, simple yoga poses, and light exercises to wake up the body, calibrate self regulation and concentration capacity, and release excess nervous energy and tension.
20 minute drawing, expressive writing, lettering and creativity exercise. A brief introduction to the practice of drawing, offering 3 drawing prompts to complete. Then a brief introduction into the practice of expressive journaling, with three journaling prompts to complete. For younger kids, just writing one letter, or holding the pen, or writing a word or sentence, whatever their level is, starting there.
20 minute STEM lesson. Some topic in Computer Science, Math, Technology or Engineering is explained. The kids then draw and write how they understand it and how they would explain it to their friend.
5 minute closing. We reflect on what we did, and open up for kids to share about what it was like for them, what they liked and didn't like, what they learned, what they were curious about and what they want to learn more about.
Notebooks, pens and pencils are provided. Kids can take the notebook with them and bring it to future classes, which build on top of each other and compound.
