Earth Day Burning Out: Belonging Circles for Resilience
A peer support circle, share or just observe.
We are a community of Pacific Northwest humans striving to thrive in the mess that we're in as a species and as a society. We are climate scientists, writers, workers, nonprofit champions, artists, poets, community-changemakers, and so many people just concerned about climate and the polycrisis as we stand overlooking the long dark ahead of us.
Join in on Earth Day to reflect in how you are balancing the burnout.

Unrealistic Expectations
Whether it's pressure from work, family, or yourself, burnout thrives when you're trying to meet impossible standards. It's exhausting to constantly feel like you're falling short, even when you're doing your best
Perfectionism
Perfectionism makes you feel like you have to work twice as hard to prove your worth. You overthink every decision, double-check everything, and never allow yourself to rest because it feels like there's always more to do.
Poor Boundaries
Saying yes to everyone else leaves little time for yourself. Whether it's taking on extra work or emotional labor at home, burnout happens when you don't have the space to recharge.
Inadequate Resources
Burnout thrives when you're stretched thin, whether it's a lack of time, emotional support, or financial resources. It feels like you're carrying the weight of the world alone.
High Emotional Demands
Whether it's managing work stress or supporting family and friends, burnout happens when you're constantly meeting everyone else's needs and ignoring your own
Misalignment of Values
When your time and energy are spent on things that don't align with what truly matters to you, burnout sets in. It's draining to live out of sync with your own values and priorities.

A personal resilience practice.
Why should we uncover our feelings? We will talk about it.
This is NOT group therapy. It is an opportunity to dig in, ask questions and feel community connection with other concerned folx. Saying the quiet part out loud is empowering.
Climate Circles are a system of "clima-unity" coming together in a Circle like this, gives each participant a chance to simply listen to perspectives of others.
How does the changing climate, and everything before it, during, and the aftermath of its wrath— how do each of us take this into our continuum of understanding the natural and built world.
