India Sand Watch - year 2 review
India Sand Watch is completing two years in the public domain, and we are excited to share this milestone with you!
India Sand Watch (ISW) is an environmental accountability project with an Open-Data platform at its heart. The platform, built collaboratively with Ooloi Labs, enables collection, annotation and archiving of data on sand mining in India.
Through ISW, we are also collectively building & sharing knowledge on sediments, encouraging active citizenship, and offering new imaginations for environmental accountability.
At this 2 year milestone, we’re taking the opportunity to look back and review the work being done by our team, and the progress made with our partners and collaborators Wildlife Conservation Trust, Berkeley School of Information and Agami and share what we have in store for the future.
We've been developing some new tools and making efforts to increase accessibility of our open-data platform, and made progress with our on-ground and remote sensing work that we will be sharing on the day!
