This training day is led by our expert team on how to apply best practice Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) to youth settings outside the school classroom.

Split Banana has worked with over 100,000 young people, with approaches that foster critical reflection and open dialogue to help them to explore and prepare for real life: from the impacts of pornography, to the pressures of gender roles; discussing boundaries with a partner and developing sexual scripts they can feel confident using. Quality RSE can make a huge difference to teenager's lives

We know that the adults young people often feel most comfortable asking questions to are those they have supportive relationships with outside of home and school. In these ‘third space’ settings, professionals have the opportunity to provide crucial support to young people as they develop their sexual and digital ethics, and begin to have questions about intimate relationships and identity.

In our RSE Essentials: Split Banana’s Flagship One-Day Training for Youth Professionals, we will:

  • Unpack the wider cultural influences and technologies that are influencing how young people are navigating sex and relationships.

  • Introduce you to tools for having conversations about RSE topics in an inclusive and engaging way - including healthy relationships, consent, gender stereotypes and sexuality.

  • Share best practice approaches to help you responds sensitively to young people’s questions, and to design participatory and creative sessions for your context.

In addition to this training you will receive a number of bonuses, including a toolkit of resources, reading lists, future workshop discounts and 1-1 consultation.

This training is designed for professionals working with young people outside the mainstream classroom (for example, those in small group interventions, youth clubs, pastoral roles, facilitators of PSHE related programmes, after-school programmes).

For our RSE teacher training, aligned with the DfE guidance, check out further training opportunities, including the UK's first ever, year-long, in-person RSE training programme.
