Social Work Month Film Festival & Panel

​Happy Social Work Month!

​COPE Family Support Center and the Child Abuse Prevention Council is partnering with the National Association of Social Workers-CA and National University to host a screening of the Oakland-based documentary A Rising Tide. The film follows several Bay Area families navigating poverty while highlighting the structural and economic barriers that shape opportunity, stability, and family wellbeing.

​Following the screening, we will host a moderated panel discussion with:

• ​Michelle Starratt, Director, Alameda County Community Development Agency

• ​Claudia Ramirez, Executive Director, St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County

• ​Brandi Howard, President & CEO, East Bay Community Foundation

​The conversation will explore how housing policy, economic opportunity, and community investments influence family stability and what policy opportunities may help strengthen prevention and support for families.
