Room 3 - Anahata Baithak - Solstice Edition
Room 3 is the intimate music format at The Living Room - no stage, no distance, a fixed number of seats, and music that asks something of the listener.
We present Anahata Baithak extended - Solstice Baithak
On the longest day of the year, we gather for a late night Baithak. Dhrupad, cacao, low light, and a room listening together. No stage. No distance. Just music unfolding slowly through the night.
It begins in Alap — a long, wordless, unmetered exploration of the raga. Only sound unfolding from silence. The ancient texts speak of Anahata — the unstruck sound — the vibration that exists before any instrument is played, before any voice is raised.
Chintan Upadhyaya is a Dhrupad vocalist trained under Pandit Uday Bhawalkar in the Dagar Vaani tradition, leading the Alembic Dhrupad foundation.
