About Event

Americans take half a million autonomous vehicle trips every week in several U.S. cities – so why not DC?

Autonomous vehicle (AV) companies are actively testing in the District today, with intentions to serve passengers as early as this year. As the DC Council's landmark 2012 AV law demonstrated, the District has long recognized the promise of this technology – but finalizing DC’s regulatory framework is essential to ensure District residents can access AVs as a safer, more affordable, and more accessible mobility option.

Local leaders are working hard to diversify DC's economy and attract businesses in high-growth sectors. Transportation innovation is one area where the District has a real opportunity to lead – and now is the time to act.

Join us for a panel discussion on the future of AVs in the District, featuring Waymo and local leaders working to advance transportation innovation in DC:

  • The Honorable Anthony A. Williams, CEO and Executive Director of Federal City Council; Mayor of DC from 1999-2007

  • Reverend Thomas L. Bowen, General Secretary, Progressive National Baptist Convention

  • Tiffany Moore, Head of Federal Policy & Government Affairs, Waymo

  • Greg Rogers, Founder & CEO, The Innovation Majority (Moderator)

The panel will be followed by a networking reception with beverages and hors d’oeuvres. This event is made possible with the support of Waymo.
