RISE UP (in person) Working Session, Kenya

​Join the RISE UP team, network members and partners to strengthen coordinated, community-centred ocean advocacy around key themes of Our Ocean Conference 11 (OOC11) and help drive collective action toward more equitable, inclusive and locally grounded outcomes.

​As global ambition for ocean protection grows, the challenge is no longer only securing commitments; it is ensuring they translate into meaningful outcomes for coastal communities and those dependent on healthy marine ecosystems.

​OOC11 is an opportune moment to celebrate how far global ocean governance has moved forward. Yet while announcements on marine protection, ocean-climate action and sustainable fisheries continue to increase, gaps remain in implementation, accountability and direct support to frontline actors.

​This working session will create a focused space for dialogue and practical coordination among coastal community representatives and civil society actors. The discussion will centre on three interconnected priorities emerging across OOC11, as well as a broader discussion around equitable ocean governance.

​It will be followed by lunch and an afternoon session hosted by TINTA (more information to come).
